Angelina Vangor began her career as a model and blogger with a focus on perfumes, and today she is the driving force behind her own cosmetics collection, making bold strides forward.
How do you maintain such a strong connection with your audience on social media?
The answer is surprisingly simple: I create all my own posts. I’ve never had a team of copywriters. When the content comes directly from its creator, the audience feels that authenticity. If your thoughts come from the depths of your own mind, they resonate sincerely. The audience follows your thoughts and experiences your stories alongside you. My posts often resemble short stories about perfumes, filled with emotions, associations, and memories, always inspired by something special. Beyond perfumes, I write about travel, fashion, and even daily musings that bring me joy or sadness. A special part of my content is dedicated to the people who inspire me—those dear individuals in my life.
What inspired you to create your own line of scented candles and diffusers?
As the saying goes, it all happened by chance, yet as if it was meant to be. I was looking for creative corporate gifts for my business partners and New Year’s presents for friends when I had the idea to design personalized candles in elegant boxes with unique designs. That’s how it all started. At the time, I never imagined these candles would receive such an overwhelmingly positive response. Soon after, both partners and friends began requesting more, which inspired me to further develop the concept. Today, I have my own lab and production facilities, but one thing hasn’t changed—the creative process still requires genuine inspiration.
Can you tell us more about the creative process behind your line of scented candles? What makes them unique?
Today, a small team of professionals, who share my passion for the world of fragrances, collaborates in the creative process. Each team member contributes to developing scents, telling the story of how the idea originated and what emotions, feelings, and associations the fragrance is meant to evoke for our brand’s enthusiasts. The creative process often involves intense discussions, which is natural since our goal is to craft a product that brings joy to people worldwide and enriches their homes with beautiful aromas. Besides the scents themselves, we pay great attention to packaging design, which has become a signature part of our creative journey. We use innovative techniques such as gold stamping, foil embossing, and textured engraving to achieve a distinctive look.
You’ve worked with renowned designers. How have those collaborations influenced your personal style?
Working with top perfumers has profoundly shaped my perspective on fragrances. I’ve been particularly inspired by our deep discussions about the essence of scents—where they originate and why some fade into obscurity while others become timeless classics. I recall fascinating conversations with Bertrand Duchaufour, a master perfumer, about his work on Fahrenheit for Christian Dior. His thoughts on how an imagined „blue wood“ might smell or what textures certain colors evoke broadened my creative horizon. Similarly, Emmanuel Philip, another brilliant perfumer, spoke about the scent of black or how bronze flowers might smell. These dialogues opened the door to an infinite world of associations, encouraging me to think beyond boundaries.
What’s next for your brand? Are there new projects or collaborations on the horizon?
Our current range includes scented candles, diffusers, liquid soaps, hand creams, shower gels, and body lotions. We recently launched a hair shampoo and are actively working on developing a conditioner. We’re also planning to expand into facial skincare products, a project currently in the hands of our laboratory team. One of our major projects, which has been in the works for some time, is Perfume and Coffee. Although technical challenges prevented its release this year, we’re hopeful to bring it to life in 2025. Our vision is to create an immersive experience that blends memories, scents, and flavors, taking visitors on a unique journey through emotions and nostalgia.
What advice would you give to young influencers and fragrance enthusiasts aiming to leave their mark in the fashion and beauty industry?
Dear friends, my advice is to never compromise when pursuing your dream. Don’t change your style to please others or follow trends. Be bold and courageous, and don’t fear misunderstanding or failure. Every obstacle along the way brings you closer to your goal. The secret to success lies in persistence—always try one more time.
